Kinnekulle-leden II

The Lunar Solo pitched in a different way :-)
Prepairing some breakfast at the Evernew stove.
Limestone wall

Kinnekulle-leden

Last weekend I walked the trail around the hill "Kinnekulle". I was lucky with very good weather, the last days of summer. The night before it was below zero in the area.
The trail is 46 km long, and with a few extensions by me I walked about 50 km. I will recommend the trail for a two day trip. There are several shelters along the trail, but I didn't use them.
I used my Golite Jam 2 and without food and water I calculated the weight to approx 5 kilos. Added to that approx 3 kilos for eating and drinking. There where a few places to fill water, so I brought a couple of PET-bottles.
The Evernew stove was great. Did only use it with alcohol. Tried it before several times in wood burning mode. Very satisfied with both kind of fuel. Next trip I will use most wood and then Esbit as backup and in stealth mode.
View from the top of Kinnekulle. The lake Vänern in distance.

Only a very thin layer of soil over the limestone.

Planning for the weekend

Have the possibilty to take a day off this friday. So I will be heading off for som nice walking. There are a morning train directly to the area where I have intentions to spend the weekend. A small village named Hällekis close to the big lake Vänern. From there its a 45 km trail in round trip. Probably I will extend the trip to visist some historical spots south of the trail. Want to see the 11:th century church, not far away. maybe looking for more historical buildings in the area.
My equipment will be almost the same as used on my trip at Skåneleden in June. Will use the Evernew stove in woodburning mode as much as possible. Will bring som alcohol for morning coffe etc.Maybe using walking sticks as tent pole for my Lunar Solo. In Skåne I used the carbon fiber tent pole.
Need to use my Iphone during the trip, so I have to bring some backup power. Possible I borrow my friends solar charger with battery. Report will follow.
