Day trip

Slow start this sunday morning. Nice to have breakfast and reading the newspaper and no hurry at all.
Packed my favorite day trip rucksack-"Salomom Revo". Light and perfect size for water, something to eat and extra cloths for the break.

But today my idea was to:
A: geaocache-find some caches I've tried before, with no succes
B: test my new GPS-tracker
C: test some new setup for UL stoves

So, there where more gear then usally in my bag

After found the first cache, not far away from home I did the first test of my stove.
Built a Esbit stove in thin alu an evening some days ago. Pictures will come.
Function ok. Slow but no problem to get the water boiling. Coffe in winterland. Lovely.

The to following caches was interesting. First one on top of a hill. The next one in a cave. The only way to get in was to crawl over rocks and a lot of ice.

Next one and a half hour on snowy paths and small roads alongside a small river, partly covered by ice. Beautyful views.

Followed the river upstream abt 8 km. This area are protected-almost like a national park. So, when threas are falling over the river, the stays there.

It get darker in the afternoon. Arranged my stove with redbull alcohol burner this time. Very efficiant. Cooked a warm meal-"Chicken w sweat´n sour sauce". Mmmmm.... nice when you are hungry after ten km walk.

Took the remaining cache in darkness. Not realy dark. The snow and a rather clear sky made it possible to walk without using my head lamp.

Total distans when I reached the nearest tram-14 km.

Satisfied with both the stove setups. Will try the Esbit solution moore. Very compact and handy.

New stove

Last weekend I built a Red Bull stove. Some years ago I had a Pepsi stove. It worked well for my trips. Did manage to loose it somewhere at home :-).
So, some cans and an hour later I had my new small stove. The stand was easy to build of some stainless steel thread. The pot is a nice alu pot which I use together with my Pocket Rocket.
Will try it on day trip in future.

First day of my new blog

Have another blog in swedish about my favourite stuff, like outdoor life, geocaching and old mopeds.
Now I have intentions to start this blog abt lightweight walking.
Btw-the name of the blog-"Trinisla", is the name of an small island on the swedish west coast. Its located not far away from FjÀllbacka. Lovely little island. Been there several times by kayak.
Thera are a tiny piece of lawn, just enough to pitch some small tents close to the sea.
