Sunday daytrip

A wonderful day in the forrest of "Vättlefjäll". The snow was melting this sunny day. The ces on the lakes was no longer safe to enter. Two weeks ago you could cross every lake in the area.
We made a fire near the shelter and have some hot dogs for lunch. Mmmm...
And Winston, the dog get some as well :-)
In the forrest there where snow up to your knee. Very wet snow.
Not a UL-trip. We used more traditional euqipment and heavy boots.

  1. Looks very familiar - our laavus in Finland look pretty much the same! Except we do have a lot more snow still here in Tampere =)

  2. Don´t like the construction of the shelter. The fire is to far to make the shelter warm and cosy. But the main use of them is for daytrip pause.
There are four similar shelters close to the lake here. So its often possibility to find a free one.

  3. Yeah, that is a common problem here in Finland as well - the fire is too far away from the shelter to give it any heat. Maybe I should contact the Ministry about it :D
